What is a Professional Organizer?

A Professional Organizer is a trained and experienced professional that will guide you through the steps to regain control of your space. By coaching and teaching organizing skills, they help individuals take control of their surroundings, their time, their paper piles, and most of all their lives. They offer non-biased observations of a person’s space and systems and create an action plan for improvement. Personally, I will help you purge /remove unwanted items, donate, and even help with consignment (no fee) for valuable items. Through coaching, I work with you to maintain your success after our organizing sessions are completed.

Do you travel outside of Philadelphia?

In addition to Philadelphia, we offer in-home Organizing, Wardrobe & Coaching services to South Jersey, Central Jersey, all of the surrounding suburbs of Philadelphia (Delaware County, Montgomery County, and Bucks County), and Northern Delaware. 

 

For those who are outside of the Greater Philadelphia Area we offer DIY (Virtual) Organizing and Coaching for anyone, ANYWHERE!

How long organizing sessions take depend on many factors. Some of those factors are the size of your space, the number of items in your space, the current state of your home, your motivation level, and how quickly you can make decisions. Generally speaking, we can complete a small space such as a closet, laundry room, or small office in 3 hours. Larger areas or areas with more clutter often take longer.

We all major credit cards securely online via invoice or over the phone during initial assessments via Square. We also accept Paypal and Venmo. *All sessions must be prepaid to book.

With clear direction, we'd be happy to help you complete your organizing goals, althought we usually work with our clients to achieve long-term success. We typically act as a coach, working side-by-side with you. We first look at your space or the areas that need attention. Then we will discuss your goals, your daily, weekly, and monthly routine, and any other important information. With this information, we can develop an organizational plan that will be communicated along with a strategy to create a productive and organized space. Each project is very different so we can discuss what you’re looking for during our initial assessment.

No, we will never make you get rid of items you don't want to. What we do, is help you decide what you need, what is or isn't useful to you, what is or isn’t worth keeping, what is a necessity, and how to functionally store the items you want and need. While de-cluttering is often an essential piece of the organizing puzzle, you will always have the final say and make the de-cluttering decisions.

This is a normal emotion to feel but just know it takes strength to ask for help when you need it, so PLEASE do not feel bad or embarrassed! We have seen it all and we don't ever judge you or your items! We are here to help. We are all ears. We want you to crush your goals. **All services provided by PHL Organizer are confidential and I also abide by our Code of Ethics.

How long will organizing take?

Do I always have to be there with you?

Will you make me get rid of all my things?

What if I’m embarrassed by my mess?

Can my kids be home during our sessions?

Sure, but we normally recommend leaving children ages 6-12 with family or a babysitter, if possible. Children 5 and under often get very upset when their items are being purged so it is never recommended to purge with younger children present. Children may slow down the organizing process and you’re paying for this valuable time. It is recommended that 12 or older be present during the process to gain valuable organizing skills and to help when organizing their own spaces.
